Trademark Requirements

General Information

• Types of trademark: trademarks for goods and service, collective trademarks, slogans, certification trademarks.
• Examination procedures: formality check, examination, approved by Register, published, opposition and being approved for registration.
  
• Trademark terms: ten (10) years from registration date.Renewable.

An application in writing must be filed before the General Administration of Intellectual Property in the secretary of the Instituto de la Propiedad.

The application must include:

• Power of Attorney (legalized up to a Honduran Consulate or by apostille) 
• Twenty prints of the trademark
• Description of the trademark, the international class and the goods/services intended to cover.
• Certified copy of the application/registration upon which priority is to be claimed (if applicable)
• Name, nationality and address of applicant.
